A cannabis strain (increasingly called a cultivar or variety) is a specific genetic variation of the cannabis plant with distinct characteristics including cannabinoid content, terpene profile, appearance, aroma, flavor, and effects. Popular strains include Blue Dream, OG Kush, Girl Scout Cookies, and Sour Diesel. There are thousands of named strains, categorized as indica, sativa, or hybrid.
