Cannabis-Infused Beverages Are Hitting The Market

You might be surprised to learn that you don’t need to eat anything or take a pill to consume cannabis orally. That’s because cannabis-infused beverages are now available, and you could find them at a local dispensary or health food store! According to one expert, the market for cannabis beverages could reach 600 million dollars in sales by 2022.

What’s In Them?

While many of them do contain THC, there are other cannabis-infused beverages that only contain a non-psychoactive compound called cannabidiol (also called CBD). Here’s what you need to know about the differences between these products:

THC-Only Products

These products often contain somewhere between 5 and 10 milligrams of the compound per serving. People who are new to THC are advised to start with 5 milligrams of the compound, but many people ultimately come to find that doses of around 10-20 milligrams are best for them.

CBD-Only Products

While these products don’t produce a high, they can reduce anxiety and depression. In addition, CBD can be legally sold in all 50 states, and it was recently legalized on the federal level. Most users do best with a dosage of CBD between 15 and 45 milligrams.

Products With Other Cannabinoids

Many of these products are made from full-spectrum marijuana extracts and contain terpenes in addition to THC and/or CBD. Terpenes can have significant health benefits for many people, and there has been marijuana news recently about other types of cannabinoids that can be beneficial as well, such as CBG and CBC.

What Types Of Cannabis-Infused Drinks Can You Get?

While it’s possible to infuse cannabinoids into pretty much any kind of beverage, these are some of the most popular kinds of cannabis-infused beverages that are now available:

Cannabis-Infused Beer, Wine, Cider, And Gin

While these beverages traditionally contain alcohol, the cannabis-infused versions of them are often non-alcoholic. Here are a few great types of cannabis-infused beer, wine, cider, and gin:

Ceria Beer: This beer is brewed in Colorado, and their products contain a mixture of terpenes, THC, and CBD. They even are able to effectively dose the cannabinoids in order to create separate products for specific effects, including energy, euphoria, and sedation. They offer products with as much as 15 milligrams of CBD.

Xylem Cider: Xylem Cider contains terpenes, but it doesn’t have any THC or CBD in it.

Happy Apple Cider: This THC cider is available in three different strengths. One has five milligrams per 12 ounces, and they also offer a mid-range product that has 10 milligrams per 12 ounces. Their strongest version contains a whopping 100 milligrams per 12 ounces!

New Belgium’s Hemporer: This hemp beer contains terpenes, but it doesn’t have any CBD or THC. It also contains alcohol with 7% alcohol by volume.

Hemp Beer From Dads And Dudes Breweria: This brewery offers a THC-free hemp beer that contains CBD, and it was the first hemp-infused beer produced.

Stay Gold: While this beer is not currently being brewed, it was an IPA-style beer with CBD and 6% alcohol that was created by Pipeworks Brewing Company.

Cannabis Beers From Lagunitas: Their supercritical series is made up of beers that are brewed with hemp and contain a combination of CBD and terpenes. In addition, the brewery makes a beer called Hi-Fi Hops that contains THC, and there are two versions of it available. One version contains 0 milligrams of CBD and 10 milligrams of THC, and the other version has 5 milligrams of each compound. Hi-Fi Hops is only available in dispensaries.

Canna Vines: These wines are only available for people who go on a wine and cannabis tour in California called Cannabis Tours, but they will be made available to the general public in the future. They plan to offer wines infused with a range of cannabis strains as well as a CBD-only wine.

Rebel Coast Wines: Rebel Coast Wines offers alcohol-free wines to California residents that contain 20 milligrams of THC in every bottle.

Mary Jane’s Magical Hemp Wine: This product is made in Canada and is made with non-psychoactive hemp as opposed to marijuana. Not only does this company offer wine with hemp, but they even offer gin with hemp!

Greenway Know Your Label Wine: These wines are only available to people in California, and they are unique in that they do not come with labels on the bottle. Instead, they simply have a tag at the top that says what type of wine the product is and what strain(s) of cannabis it has been infused with.

The Myrcene Hemp Gin: This gin is made in Australia, and it contains terpenes from the cannabis plant. The reason for its name is that myrcene is the terpene that has the highest concentration in the cannabis plant.

Cannabis Sodas

If you’re looking for a delicious soft drink that’s infused with cannabis, check out these products:

Sprig’s Cannabis-Infused Sodas: These sodas have 20 milligrams of CBD per 12 ounces, and they do not contain THC.

Level+: This beverage contains 5 milligrams of THC per 16 ounces, and this makes it an excellent product for people who are new to THC.

Products From Mirth Provisions: This company is based out of Washington, and they offer a variety of soft drink products with extracts from different cannabis strains.

What Will The Future Of Cannabis-Infused Beverages Look Like?

Due to the fact that more states are likely to legalize cannabis, beverages with THC are likely to be available in more areas of the country.

Due to the fact that research on cannabis was scant during the years that it was banned in all 50 states, scientists continue to learn more about many of the compounds in the cannabis plant, and some future cannabis beverages may be designed to contain these new compounds as opposed to THC or CBD. For example, cannabis contains a compound known as CBN, and this chemical has powerful anti-anxiety and sleep-inducing properties.

While we’re likely to see a lot of developments in the world of cannabis beverages, one bit of marijuana news that probably won’t happen in the near future is the development of a drink that contains both THC and alcohol. In fact, such a beverage would not be legal anywhere in the country.

Major companies are beginning to get in on cannabis beverages. Constellation beverages has recently invested in cannabis, and this company invested 4 million dollars in a marijuana company from Canada. Molson-Coors has started a joint venture with another Canadian marijuana company that’s aimed at creating non-alcoholic cannabis beverages. Also, Coca-Cola may offer a CBD-infused beverage in the near future, and if this occurs, it’s likely that you’ll see many more marijuana news stories about other companies that have started offering the drinks.

Many people are likely to choose THC-infused beverages instead of alcoholic beverages, and one reason for this is that these products are far healthier than alcoholic drinks. There is no evidence to suggest that any of the natural cannabinoids have the potential to result in physical harm to a healthy individual. Due to the unique appeal of cannabis-infused beverages and the wide range of benefits that they can have, there’s likely to be much more marijuana news about them in the future.
