Unfit for human habitation. The well established roach population is the only thing that luxuriates here. The vile smell of cockroach permeates the rooms and nauseastes. Management simply passes off responsibility for hygiene onto the obviously unbothered residents allowing the roaches to persist. This place needs to be condemned. It’s like paying rent to be homeless in filth.

Kelly is great. She is very communicative and responsible person. Trust her 100%. If you need a place in Oakland, contact Kelly!!

Stayed here for a few months and it was the worst living conditions I’ve experienced. Apartment was on the 4th floor and there’s no elevator so I had to haul all of my belongings up flights of stairs. Just as every other review states the common areas are filthy. They have a cleaning PERSON (sometimes two or three I’ve seen) come and clean the entire building once a month. Imagine the lack of efficiency two people have cleaning multiple areas for an entire complex. These monthly “cleans” are more like wipe downs no bleach or sterilization in sight. Upon arriving to my unit during my move in the apartment was not cleaned. When emailing management I was told they would send someone out to do so but never did. And to top it off I was charged $110 for a move out cleaning fee which isn’t blatantly stated on the lease that it’s an automatic charge for everyone when moving out. Charging a cleaning fee when they don’t clean anything is egregious and I left my unit cleaner than I received it. The final straw was the roach infestation. There’s roaches in the building especially in the kitchen. I also made management aware of this situation and of course no real response or solutions. Addressing these conditions start with the property owners and they don’t seem to care because they don’t have to live there. I was extremely uncomfortable living there and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Kelly has been an invaluable asset in my transition to The Collective as a tenant. We maintain communication through email, text, phone calls, and video conferencing while I was out of state for the month on business, answering my inquiries and follow-ups. Effective communication was instrumental in my decision to move here. I look forward to my stay.

I had an excellent experience working with Kelly. I was looking for an apartment for my son, and the Collective is a great alternative to a roommate situation. I was able to schedule a tour with Kelly right away, and she showed me a couple of available units as well as the common areas, which include a nice modern kitchen on each floor. Everything was modern, up to date, and clean. Kelly was super helpful, communicative, and responsive with the application process and getting the lease signed. She was professional and helpful throughout.
