I saw Dr. Khalique for multiple sessions and it was an extremely frustrating experience, especially given the roughly $500 per visit cost. Each appointment felt like a stall tactic. He would end sessions by saying he had more thoughts to share later, pushing everything into another appointment weeks away. When I came back, instead of building on anything, it felt like we were starting over. I was hoping for actual insight and direction, but kept getting vague, non-answers instead. I had already completed a full professional evaluation elsewhere, yet when I asked straightforward questions, he refused to give any meaningful opinion and hid behind needing to "assess more". It came across less like careful professionalism and more like an unwillingness to say anything useful. He repeatedly redirected the conversation away from what I wanted to discuss and tried to frame everything as my anxiety (isn't that an easy way out, I'm sure he uses this tactic often), even when I made it clear that wasn’t why I was there. It felt extremely dismissive and unhelpful. At one point he also made what I considered unreasonable and insensitive comments about basic parenting decisions that weren’t even the reason for the visit. That was clearly a red flag, and I regret not stopping the session at that moment. The final session ended with me walking out because it was clear he wasn’t going to help me. I have NEVER done this before. As I was leaving, he tried to hand me a list of psychiatrists who take my insurance. I told him insurance wasn’t the issue and that I just needed someone who could actually help. Shows how money focused he is. Looking back, I’m relieved I stopped when I did. Each visit was expensive, unhelpful, unproductive and ultimately a waste of time and money. I genuinely feel like I dodged a bullet by moving on. There are better options out there. If you want someone extremely useless, insensitive, indirect and slow to offer any real feedback, this may be fine. If you want practical guidance, clear opinions, or to feel heard, I would strongly consider looking elsewhere. Strong strong strong pass.

My son has been seeing Dr. Khalique for almost 20 years. He is genuinely cares for his patients, listens to understand, and it shows in his professional approach to his care. We highly recommend him to anyone!

Wow what a poor experience. I have dealt with many medical practices and doctors so recognize red flags when I see them. I truly hope they can fix things otherwise their administration is preventing their doctors from truly helping people. Read below for experience: I had my company's advocate locate a provider in network and they referred this group. When I called to book an appointment, they said I had to email over my insurance card first before even booking it. Other offices take this over the phone, and also work with the insurance to help their patients. Regardless, I emailed it. I left a message to book an appointment in which they never returned. I called multiple times, no answer. I finally got a hold of the receptionist who said I had to fill out the many pages of paperwork in addition to the insurance card before even booking an appointment. It also included signing that I would be liable for cash visit costs. (upwards of $400 dollars for an initial evaluation). While on the phone I articulated to receptionist that I felt uncomfortable signing this when I was told they take my insurance and didn't understand why I couldn't book the appointment. (They were booked months out) I was interrupted and met with defensiveness and hostility. "This is our process. Don't know what to tell you. Insurances won't talk to me." I also asked if there was an electronic way to fill this out as it didn't make sense to send this sensitive PHI data via email and she said I could fill it out and drop it off at their office - AGAIN before even booking a new appointment! I asked the individual's name and she said it was Bobbie M. Very disappointing. Navigating mental health in modern society is hard enough- I would hope providers would want to make this easier, not harder.

Dr. Khalique was great and I actually learned a lot from my one meeting with him. However my experience with the office was horrible. I should have known when in the beginning someone called to intake me but I already had an appt scheduled and had already gone through the process and the lady was rude & short with me for it. After my initial appt, I was meant to schedule a 6-week follow up. I called the office multiple times and at different times just to try and get a response. I left voice messages. I even sent an email as after over 2 months on a new medication, THEY WERENT EVEN RESPONDING TO MY PHARMACIST and I had to ween myself off the medication with only 6 doses left as I was terrified of withdrawal. No one should have to do that. It could have caused a psychiatric emergency and thankfully I made it through. I don’t know what I did wrong, I used my insurance and paid what I owed, but the negligence in having someone have to frantically figure out how to ween themselves off a medication your office prescribed just because you refuse to answer anyone, is really not ok.

After two years of continuous panic attacks and related sufferings, doctor Khalique stabilized my son who has autism and possibly bipolar, and he did that with a single medication trail. No nasty brain-numbing neuroleptics, no medication cocktails, and surprisingly, there has been no weight-gain or drowsiness either. Dr. Khalique listens carefully and cares about his patients quality of life. So, it is needless to say that I feel grateful to him and I can't recommend him enough.
