Chateau Wellness Center

my experience here was fabulous what you got me ready for the outside world

My home burned down in a fire. Red Cross called the Wellness Center and explained what happened and to check availability. They were advised there was plenty of availability but I needed to call in myself. I immediately called the following day and have been calling every day, 2x a day and NEVER once have I been called back. It's been 3 months. While still out here on the street, I was approved for housing assistance, assigned a counselor whose supposed to be helping me locate a place. NOT 1x have I been shown a single place. I've been nothing but strung along the whole time. Instead of focusing on filling up the wellness center, why not try helping the ones who really want and need a place to call home. I think the WELLNESS Center is a great option to help people in need but needs more structure. They need someone to oversee that the people hired are truly doing their jobs instead of just relying on what they say they've done. I have witnessed first hand enough lies to fill up a candy jar from this place. Not to mention, your only supposed to be here short term. However, I personally know people who've been there for over 1 1/2 years. God forbid you stand up for yourself, they simply kick you out and don't want to help you. Where has all the funding gone to help the homeless?

I was given a second chance to reside temporarily at the facility and it has been the best second chance of my life. People need to be grateful and understand that this is not a shelter but a place to get help and get well but you have to be willing to want and ask for the help like I did. I am extremely grateful for this stepping stone I have chosen to take advantage of. Without the case managers and staff here I don't think I would be where I am at today. I am still a client waiting on my housing but it is in the process and I have achievable goals that I have been accomplishing one day at a time. We must all understand that nothing is owed to us here at this facility and the services we are offered are very useful, if you're willing to do the footwork. Thank you Hope the Mission, Symba Center and the City of Victorville. My sincere respect and appreciation.

I stayed at the wellness center 64 days in total . I feel it was a blessing but the workers are very messy unfit to job they need more experience whole hearted staff 💔 people are going thru a rough time ,its not a prison I developed anixtey from being there my success story was on my own they do not give out any resources or don't have a plan

My puppy and I are safe and warm. We are out of the desert from a tent to a bedroom with heating and air. My puppy has gotten sick and ac provided his vwt visit for him. Staff here are great .there are some kinks . I think alot of things could have been thought thru more like segregating the ppl that come in ofg the streets frpm the area that is supposed to have families .. kids dont need to be around the cussing arguing or possible paraphernalia . We get to have our dogs in the room with us. Medical services are on site 24/7 case mAnagers helping me level up I think the waiting list is a joke
