This local store is a wonderful find, offering a curated selection of organic and natural beauty products, including 100% OIL perfumes (not infused with alcohol many stores used to cut their products to make a profit), massage oils, soaps, crystals and incense. The owner's decades of expertise, engaging personality, positive vibes and kind demeanor create a welcoming atmosphere and a truly positive shopping experience. I go there to get my hard to find China Rain body oil perfume that has been a classic, popular light scent in The Bay Area since the 70's. Please support local and black-owned businesses.

Once upon a Hiero Day I found The Peoples Store vendor booth and discovered a wondrous thing: “Nefi’s Own Cocoa Bliss Organic Hair and Skin Care Shea butter blend” and IT IS HEAVENLY! It lasted me quite awhile but I would eventually make the trek across town and visit The Peoples Store to stock up and get a couple extra for gifts. Upon entering the shop I quickly learned that I had come there for so much more. They have a great selection of high quality body oils and perfumes. They have an extensive collection of incense some hard to find and some I had never known before. I shopped their earring collection and came away with some stylish new gear at very affordable prices. I found they have a great collection of stones and minerals as well as many beautiful handcrafted altar pieces and jewelry. They have some very cool handmade clothing and original tshirts and hats with prints of a local flavor. I could just keep going, there are so many great finds at this store that you just have to see for yourself! The People’s community is at the heart and soul of Oakland please come out and support this local black owned business and tell a friend🌟💜

I love this store! The best place in Oakland to get all of your crystal, herbal, and overall apothecary needs. But don’t stop there. The People’s store has an ABUNDANCE of all natural soaps, essential oils, and even Jewlery! I came in on a Saturday afternoon and was warmly greeted by the owner who is super helpful and knowledgeable about all his products. Definitely my go to for a variety of needs from spiritual cleanings to herbal baths I can count on the People’s store to have everything I need and at an AFFORDABLE price !! I look forward to coming in again this weekend! Thank you for all you do in and for the community!

Very well organized store with a variety of natural products. The dark Amber oil is what I came for. It is reasonably priced and I always buy 2 4oz bottles that last about 6 mos. It smells AMAZING on my skin & leaves an unforgettable scent. In addition, they give back to the community by preparing non-Vegan & Vegan meals on the last Sunday of each month for FREE. No other merchants in the High Street area do this & people come from miles away to support the 3 storefronts who are so generous & humble! Hats off to them for supporting a diverse & inclusive community!!
