Columbia Care is a patient-centered health and wellness company setting the standard for compassion, professionalism, quality, caring, and innovation, working in collaboration with some of the most renowned and innovative teaching hospitals in the world. We are hiring FULL-TIME and PART-TIME Sales Associates to be registered as dispensary agents for our potential medical cannabis dispensary located in Bethesda, Maryland.

 

This is a patient-focused position for an individual with compassion, sensitivity, and the ability to explain the potential benefits, side effects, and methods of use for all forms and cultivars of medical cannabis products. Sales Associates provide guidance and education to patients and caregivers to ensure they receive appropriate medication that will best benefit a patient’s medical needs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Reception: Greeting visitors, validating patients and caregivers, ensuring patient forms are completed accurately, answering phone calls, responding to general emails, and maintaining a comfortable flow within the service area;
  • Product Knowledge: Recommend safe and effective treatments tailored to specific patient needs, stay current on products available in the Maryland medical cannabis market, and actively participate in training sessions;
  • Point of Sale: Accurate use of BioTrack sales and inventory system, stocking displays, processing pre-orders, and correct cash handling;
  • Compliance: Maintain knowledge of state and federal medical cannabis regulations, assist with audits and investigations, and strictly adhere to standard operating procedures.

 

Ideal candidates will have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical cannabis, customer service, patient care, healing sciences, retail inventory control, and/or experience working in a highly-regulated environment. Schedule flexibility including availability to work weekends is a must.

 

Under Maryland Law, individuals must be at least 21 years of age to be registered as a dispensary agent and must submit to a pre-employment drug screen. Medical justification may be provided for any drugs found during screening (e.g., a valid medical cannabis patient ID card). Regulations also require that individuals submit to a criminal background check with FBI fingerprinting and no one may be registered as a dispensary agent if they have been convicted of a felony drug offense.
