Single Recipe Infusion

Single Recipe Infusion

Use this calculator to find out how much cannabis you need for **one** recipe, based on the desired THC per serving. This calculation assumes raw cannabis **before decarboxylation**.

* If unsure of potency, common estimates are 5% for trim, 7% for sugar leaf, and 15% for flower.

What should I use this calculator for?

If you want to make just one batch of edibles—like brownies or cookies—and aren’t sure how much cannabis to use, this is the tool for you. Enter the number of servings your recipe makes, the mg of THC per serving you want, and the THCA% of your cannabis. The calculator will tell you exactly how many grams (or ounces) of raw flower you need for your infusion. It’s a quick, user-friendly edible dosage calculator.

How much weed should I put in my edibles?

That depends on the THC potency you’re aiming for. Simply type in how many servings you’re making and your desired mg of THC per serving. Our Single Recipe Infusion Calculator does the rest, telling you the exact amount of cannabis (in grams or ounces) to use before decarboxylation.

How many mg of THC should I put in my edibles?

Everyone has a different tolerance and desired effect. Many recreational users start around 10 mg of THC per serving. However, medical patients may require higher doses. Using this calculator helps you estimate how much raw cannabis is needed to achieve your preferred mg of THC per serving.

How many mg of CBD should I put in my edibles?

Similar to THC, CBD dosing can vary based on personal tolerance and desired effect. Many people find 10 mg of CBD a good starting point. If you have high-CBD cannabis, simply use its CBD% in the calculator (substituting it for the THCA%). This will estimate how many grams of raw flower you need for your chosen CBD potency.

Does it matter if I’m using pre-infused oil or a concentrate?

If your oil is already infused with THC or CBD, you don’t need this calculator. Instead, check out our How Much Infused Oil to Use Calculator (for premade cannabutter or oils) or the How Much Concentrate to Use Calculator (for concentrates like shatter or distillate). Those tools help you figure out how much of the already potent ingredient to add to your recipe.

Where can I find the THC or CBD percentage of my cannabis flower?

Licensed Dispensaries: Potency info is usually on the label.
Home-Grown: Use a home test kit or rely on typical estimates (e.g., 15% for flower, 7% for sugar leaf, 5% for trim).

Should I look at other cannabinoids or terpenes besides THC/CBD?

While many cannabis labels focus on THC and CBD, other cannabinoids (like CBN, CBG) and terpenes can also impact the flavor and effects. If your flower’s label lists additional cannabinoids, simply substitute that percentage in the calculator to estimate your desired dose of those specific compounds.

How long does it take to feel the effects of edibles?

On average, edibles can take 30–90 minutes to kick in. This can vary based on your metabolism, when you last ate, and more. It’s common advice to wait at least 2 hours before taking more, especially if you’re new to edibles.

How many mg of edibles should I eat?

This is highly individual. Recreational edibles often come in 10 mg doses per serving. Medical users might need much more. Always factor in your own experience level and body chemistry. If you’re unsure, start with a lower amount and adjust over time.

How does this marijuana calculator work?

1. Desired THC per Serving: You enter how many milligrams of THC you want in each serving.
2. Number of Servings: How many edibles or portions you’re making.
3. Raw Cannabis THCA%: An estimate or tested potency percentage.

The calculator then determines how many grams (or ounces) of raw cannabis to use, assuming typical pre-decarboxylation losses. This ensures you get close to the target dose in each serving—although real-world results can vary based on decarbing and infusion efficiency.
