After purchasing cigars here regularly for more than a decade, today I was told I have to show an id (I'm 67) and provide my telephone number to buy cigars, even if I pay in cash. I showed them my Florida drivers license to prove my age and they still refused to sell to me without providing my phone number. They also required scanning my drivers license. When pressed on why they are requiring this information, they were evasive and suggested I shop elsewhere. I can tell you this is not required by Florida state or federal law and should be considered an invasion of privacy. They are probably selling your personal information, but at the very least are in violation of Florida consumer protection laws. There is no legitimate reason to require this information or scan your drivers license, especially for a cash sell. Such a shame as I've enjoyed shopping there for many years. I've texted all my cigar smoking friends and suggested they shop elsewhere. You would be wise to do the same. What a scam.
