Stop N Shop Tobacco

It's kind of the perfect option after 10pm precisely because it's also the ONLY option. And while they're an oasis amid a corridor of a two closed Targets which book-end Lake street, closed Cubs - also at each end... and at 46th/Minnehaha, closed tobacco shops numbering five in Phillips and Hiawatha... all closed at 10pm and Aldi too which goes dark at 8pm. So here sits a tobacco shop, small convenience, deli, hot coffee, donuts, lighter, papers, bl*nt wraps, milk, sandwiches, ice cream, FRESH FRUIT (SERIOUSLY?!) and for the keen-eyed bargain hunter, there are 2-for's and 3-for's and other ways to stretch your dollars. They don't need to be kind or clean, or even safe. But they try. They make the effort. They want your business. They want to serve you. That said... it does get spicy down there. It's South Minneap... what'r ya gonna do? But their security is helpful, watchful, and LARGE. Inside, I got no worries. This place is truly an oasis.

I called them to see if they sold snuff ( the original nasal snuff) and the person got really aggressive and started cursing at me and told not to call and they were gonna call the cops? I assume they had no idea what snuff (sniff snuff/ nasal snuff/) was and thought I was talking about other things you sniff? I don't know? but for a tobacco shop they need to get a clue and not jump to conclusions. I explained what I was looking for, very detailed right away so there should have been no confusion since I have been calling every tobacco store in town and no-one sells snuff ( which is fine, not many people do it anymore.) I just didn't need to get berated looking for a TOBACCO product....

Normally I have a good experience at this shop. But today the older gentleman working the on the tobacco side needs a refresher on customer service because he was rude. The price of my smokes went up .25 cents. I was legit curious about the price increase and I was asking him questions and he was not about it. If thats how the service will be going forward, I'll take my business elsewhere

I was told they close at 1 but when I got there 5 minutes before close the door was locked and I was told that yes they close at 1 but they lock it when they feel like. Employees having an attitude when you come during store hours to spend money is super annoying. If you close at 1250 update the hours or something cause I don’t have a problem coming when it’s open, but I’d rather not be told it’s open and have the door slammed on my face because employees want to get home 5 minutes earlier and not do their job.

So...I feel they have a store like this in any area, when you park, don't leave your window down, because someone will most likely walk up to your window and ask for a cigarette you don't smoke or if you have money. Because it happened twice just parked and once again when leaving. When you walk into this store you are greeted with small walkways/shelving. If you are in a wheel chair you most likely won't be able to move around in this store. It must be a hot spot for stealing because you there is no cups for fountain drinks or coffee unless asked in front. We dared to go in a bathroom which you have to get the key and a employee startled my children and I wanting the key back before we even walked into the dingy bathroom. Not making us feel any safer, since anyone could ask for the key again and walk in on us. They do have a chicken and tacos/birria inside the store but I'd say if you dare too. Everything in her is cramped in. I wouldn't bring my kids back in here if my life depended on it. But hey this is me, some I guess NEED to come here. 🤗
